 Aristocats Nail Design

So, the first in my series of my original Disney nail designs.

I have been sketching away and have decided that I will start off by providing you with some of the simplest designs and gradually get to the more complex ones.

This Aristocats design was an attempt at representing the main characters in the simplest manner.

The thumb nail takes the main colours from the DVD cover with a music note, the 3 middle fingers represent the kittens; Marie, Berlioz and Toulouse, and the pinky finger is an attempt at representing Edgar; the money-crazed villain.

Since it is such a simple design, this is a step-by step guide to how to create this design:

So to start off, paint each nail with the base colour.
As you can see, I didn't have the exact colour I wanted for the middle nail and so have mixed two of the colours I own to get the desired shade.
Do not think that you have to use these exact nail polishes.
Use whatever you have to get similar colours.

Next, some of the finer details are added.
As you can see, I am not using any fancy nail tools. They are not always necessary. Whilst they provide a more professional finish, there are plenty of things that are easier to get hold of that give almost as good finishes; for example, pencils or hair grips.

Finally, I added a music note to the thumb, again using the pencil, outlines to each of the designs, and applied a top coat to all nails. I used a Sally Hansen one as I tend to find that they make the designs last the longest.

And there you have my Aristocats-inspired nail art!
Here is a picture of my sketch so you can see how an idea was turned into the end-product:

I really hope you enjoyed this blog post!
