 Aristocats Nail Design

So, the first in my series of my original Disney nail designs.

I have been sketching away and have decided that I will start off by providing you with some of the simplest designs and gradually get to the more complex ones.

This Aristocats design was an attempt at representing the main characters in the simplest manner.

The thumb nail takes the main colours from the DVD cover with a music note, the 3 middle fingers represent the kittens; Marie, Berlioz and Toulouse, and the pinky finger is an attempt at representing Edgar; the money-crazed villain.

Since it is such a simple design, this is a step-by step guide to how to create this design:

So to start off, paint each nail with the base colour.
As you can see, I didn't have the exact colour I wanted for the middle nail and so have mixed two of the colours I own to get the desired shade.
Do not think that you have to use these exact nail polishes.
Use whatever you have to get similar colours.

Next, some of the finer details are added.
As you can see, I am not using any fancy nail tools. They are not always necessary. Whilst they provide a more professional finish, there are plenty of things that are easier to get hold of that give almost as good finishes; for example, pencils or hair grips.

Finally, I added a music note to the thumb, again using the pencil, outlines to each of the designs, and applied a top coat to all nails. I used a Sally Hansen one as I tend to find that they make the designs last the longest.

And there you have my Aristocats-inspired nail art!
Here is a picture of my sketch so you can see how an idea was turned into the end-product:

I really hope you enjoyed this blog post!

Toy Story Nails

Okay so the first proper post... feeling pressure to make it a good one!

Therefore when deciding which design to introduce to the internet first, I figured some form of Disney had to be the way forward!

So here is my attempt at Toy Story nails:

To see the original of this, see The Polish Squirrels blog!

This photo was taken on my phone a long time ago, hence the bad quality, and it should be said that I did not come up with this design!

I am however in the process of designing my own Disney-themed nail art, so there will be some original ideas in the next couple of weeks!

Work in progress:

So, to any readers, prepare for a massive helping of Disney!

Hi...

So welcome to my blog!

I finally decided to give this a shot myself after reading and admiring other nail art blogs for so long, so here we go!

For years I have painted mine, my friend's and my family's nails in quirky little designs and have got as far as setting up nail stalls at local fete's, but I have never had the confidence to put my designs online so I'm pretty nervous as to how this is going to go... eek!
Saying that, having my own little creative space to share designs that I have such fun with is also very exciting!

I am by no means an expert in nail art, it is purely a hobby of mine, but I'm excited to share my ideas nonetheless!

I really hope that anybody reading this can find something to take from it whether that be inspiration for your own design, a design to try yourself at home, or even if you just get to laugh at someone's attempt at creativity!

Enjoy!
